How It Works

Mountain bike frames are sized in inches or S/M/L. The standard formula is inseam x 0.257. XC riders often size up for climbing efficiency. Enduro and DH riders may size down for maneuverability. Modern MTBs emphasize reach and stack over seat tube length. Standover clearance is critical — you need at least 2-3 inches of clearance over the top tube when standing flat-footed.
